Abstract

Fernanda Pivano’s contribution to the dissemination of American literature in Italy has been particularly significant. Initially translating the great authors of the 1930s, Pivano later became the main interpreter of American counterculture literature. This article intends to map Pivano’s editorial trajectory as a key figure in the mechanisms of cultural exchange between Italy and the United States.
