Abstract

Nella guerra genocida in corso sulla Striscia di Gaza Israele ha distrutto tutte le università palestinesi con bombardamenti aerei o detonazioni controllate. Questo è accaduto nel pressoché assoluto silenzio della politica, dei media e perfino delle università occidentali. Ancora oggi, nonostante questi crimini di guerra siano ormai ampiamente documentati dall’ONU i media dei paesi che sostengono Israele continuano a tacere. A più riprese sono stati invece gli stessi docenti e lavoratori delle università di Gaza a prendere la parola, pubblicando una Open letter by Gaza academics and university administrators to the world (29.5.2024) e una Open letter from the presidents of Gaza universities (14.7.2025). In the ongoing genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, Israel has destroyed all Palestinian universities through air strikes and controlled detonations. This has occurred in the near-total silence from Western political institutions, media, and even universities. To this day, despite these war crimes being extensively documented by the UN, the media in countries that support Israel continue to remain silent. In contrast, it has been the Palestinian academics and staff of Gaza's universities themselves who have repeatedly raised their voices, publishing an Open Letter by Gaza Academics and University Administrators to the World (29 May 2024) and an Open Letter from the Presidents of Gaza Universities (14 July 2025). In lieu of the editorial for issue no. 3, we are publishing their translation.
