No. 45 (2025): Collezioni, collezionisti, collezionismo. Origini e futuro della memoria del cinema
This monographic issue is part of the initiatives envisaged within the framework of the PRIN 2022 “MOV.I.E. Museums of Cinema and Audiovisual Heritage: Historical Perspectives, Enhancement Strategies, Contemporary Ecosystems,” with the aim of collecting contributions that specifically address the role of collectors and collecting practices. It focuses both on the origins and formation of film collections (prints, equipment and technology, extra-filmic documents, memorabilia, etc.) and on the processes of heritagization of cinema itself, in relation to the establishment and history of film archives, museums, and collections, set against the broader theoretical and methodological questions that this history entails.
