The purpose of this essay is to reconstruct the path of a collection, born on the threshold of the 1980s in Hong Kong, which, from private, has become public in the last decade or so, trespassing the perimeter of a Wunderkammer dedicated to Chinese cinema (understood in a broad sense because it includes China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South-East Asia). A magical treasure case that has taken on the dimensions of an open space to be consulted (both in presence and in its digital version) by scholars from all over the world.
