Beppe Fenoglio’s novel Una questione privata (Garzanti, 1963; Einaudi, 1978) is written in a more “traditional” language with regard to the Fenoglio canon (characterized by English grammatical structures and words) and constitutes an emblematic case in terms of thematic similarity to Spanish history that could have sustained a synchronic translation with reference to its year of publication. This article aims to investigate the translational choices by Elena del Amo (Un asunto privado Ediciones Barataira, 2004).
