Do we lack food, do we lack agricultural production, or do we lack public policies capable of reversing the current trends that leave agricultural and food systems at the mercy of the market power of a very few players, particularly the financial industry? The right to food is being questioned even in so-called advanced societies, the rare openings towards an agro-ecological transition contained in some European proposals are heavily questioned with the excuse of the war in Ukraine. A few points to reflect on some of the elements characterising the current crisis as they result from the internal debate of European farmers’ organisations.
