Peer Review Process

The Editorial Committee of OrizzonteCina subscribes to the spirit of the recommendations made by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and aims to ensure a sustained and scrupulous application of international best practice in relation to the ethical propriety of the journal’s publication processes.

The Editors of OrizzonteCina attach the utmost importance to the role played by Reviewers in the life of the scientific communities that the journal reflects and therefore:

  • all external Reviewers are provided with the journal’s Code of Ethics together with the anonymous manuscript and the Peer Review Form;
  • upon request, certification is issued for all review activity undertaken by external Reviewers;
  • the review activity undertaken is added to the ORCID profile of all external Reviewers.

The Editorial Committee of OrizzonteCina accepts manuscripts in Italian, English and Chinese. These are subject to a double peer review:

  • An anonymous double-blind peer review carried out by an external Reviewer who has expert knowledge of the themes addressed in the article and is able to give the fullest assurance that the article will be appropriately evaluated for publication;
  • A single-blind review by a member of the Editorial Committee whose disciplinary background is compatible with the thrust of the article.

If these two reviews produce significantly different conclusions, the Editors must give precedence to the opinion of the external Reviewer in making their decision or may request a further evaluation by a second external Reviewer.

Reviewers have a maximum of 4 weeks to complete their evaluations.

Authors have a maximum of 15 days to amend their article if Reviewers identify a need for ‘minor revisions’ and 45 days if Reviewers identify a need for ‘major revisions’.
