Translating Multilingual Films in German-Language University Teaching. Two case studies. This paper will examine some translation proposals for German-language films with mixed linguistic repertoires characterized by intra-linguistic variations of both diatopic and diastratic types and by the coexistence of several linguistic codes. These proposals, based on two case studies which were analysed during a workshop of the Master’s degree course in Translation at the University of Turin, are intended to explore the possibility of preserving more language varieties in audiovisual translation and to encourage the reflection on the strategies of translation of mixed-language films in both teaching and professional fields.
