Abstract

This paper explores the crucial role of new actors in urban food policy-making processes; in particular, it highlights urban food movements as catalysts of change in local food systems, discussing their role as promoters of civil society participation in decision-making processes. Through an empirical analysis of the Turin context, the paper outlines an evolving scenario characterized by a growing interest in local food politics and the emergence of a food movement whose affirmation needs specific investigation
