Abstract

The regressive inquiry of transcendental subjectivity on the constitution of the ego and the genesis of its own occurring turns thought towards the historicity of its experience of sense, intimate reflection of the experience philosophy has of itself. “The childhood of reason”, thus called as it is transfixed by the fear of ghosts, is the place where the web of meaning is spun and where it is possible to understand it. But could the secret tragedy of this genesis of meaning and its apprehension proceed from the empirical history of the world, its traumatic otherness?
