Abstract

Psychopolitics. Characteristics and Strategy. The present paper, taking into consideration the Byung–Chul Han’s concept of psychopolitics, highlights the main features and strategies of the new technique of power that took hold with neoliberal regimes. Transparency, positivity and self–expression find in this frame a relocation of meaning, in terms of subjectivisation and subjugation devices; ICTs show themselves as essential tools for an auto–surveillance accompanied by a feeling of freedom. Then the question: can the category of psychopolitics be considered as an efficient tool for the interpretation of contemporary times?
