The aim of this article is to question hermeneutics’ claim to universality and more particularly the link between comprehension and interpretation. Keeping in mind some criticism of wittgensteinian inspiration, we’ll first define as clearly as possible the two concepts to show the meaning of the theory of the hermeneutic experience developped by Gadamer in Wahrheit und Methode.
