This paper intends to examine the contribution that deconstruction can make to the understanding of emerging technologies. To consider this contribution, we first introduce Jacques Derrida’s reflections on technology, then explore one of the most promising proposals in the field of philosophy of technology, that of David Gunkel, who bases his argument on Derrida’s deconstruction. Finally, we propose to integrate Gunkel’s proposal through the notion of interface, with which we intend to explain the peculiar status of humanoid robots.
