The following article aims to outline the relationship between Hermes and Prometheus for Stiegler, that is, between hermeneutics and the philosophy of technology. In order to do this, I will use as a guiding thread an expression that Stiegler uses to describe the myth of Prometheus: a ‘quasi-existential analytic’. The analysis of this expression will require to look carefully at the comparison made by the French philosopher firstly with Heidegger and secondly with Derrida. This will ultimately serve to return directly to Stiegler, and in particular to his reading of the myth of Prometheus, in order to highlight the relationship between hermeneutics and the philosophy of technology.
