I Drei Klavierstücke D 946 di Franz Schubert: aspetti filologici e interpretazione del loro carattere narrativo nella cornice della ricezione schubertiana

Abstract

«Carattere epico o romanzesco», «narrazione», «personaggi» sono termini ricorrenti sin dagli ultimi anni Trenta dell’Ottocento negli scritti dedicati alla musica strumentale di Schubert; tuttavia, l’utilizzo metaforico di queste parole non è sempre stato accompagnato da analisi dettagliate che ne giustificassero l’impiego. Attraverso esempi tratti dai Drei Klavierstücke D 946, il presente articolo illustra alcuni procedimenti con i quali Schubert imita le tecniche di un romanziere; l’analisi è affiancata da informazioni sulla genesi dei Drei Klavierstücke che supportano la tesi dell’esistenza in D 946 di gesti compositivi paragonabili a quelli propri di una narrazione.

Franz Schubert’s Drei Klavierstücke D 946: Philological Aspects and Interpretation of their Narrative Character in the Framework of Schubert’s Reception
Since the late 1830s, words like «epic or novelistic nature», «narration», «characters» have been often employed in texts devoted to Schubert’s instrumental music. However, these metaphors have not been always combined with detailed analysis that justify their use by critics and musicologists. Through examples from Drei Klavierstücke D 946, this article shows some procedures thanks to whom Schubert reproduces the storytelling techniques; information about the genesis of Drei Klavierstücke help us to better explain the presence in D 946 of compositional gestures comparable to the distinctive features of narrative.
