Abstract

This paper aims to present the start and the development of the first Italian archive of voices of Italian poets. It is mainly dedicated to the collection of original recordings and allows also the comparison among different recordings of a same text by many readers, together with a deep observation of many recordings of each author, through studies of Expeerimental Phonetics. The platform is part of the Voices of Italian Poets project, aimed at the Research on Phonetics applied to poetry, and is described in its structure and purpose, together with an introduction to the general methodology used. The different phases of devolpment of the project, its different potentialities and also its distinguishing features in an international panorama will be presented, as well as the current situation of the poetry vocal archives and the state of the studies connected to the poetry readings. In this paper we will explain the main consultation approaches of the archive and the operating methods adopted in the selection, collection, processing and analysis of data.
