Movement: That's All. The Random Order of the Dancing Machines

Abstract

Starting from the analysis of Accumulation (1971) and Set and Reset, the article intends to analyze the relationship between chance and artistic creation in Trisha Brown. The notion of “dancing machine”, used by Trisha Brown herself to refer to the dancer, will be the occasion to attempt the juxtaposition between dancing body, animal and cybernetic machine. As we will see, the case is an element of creation proper to the living and, in general, to every self-poietic system.

Laureata in Filosofia Teoretica all’Università degli Studi di Torino sotto la direzione di Ugo Maria Ugazio con la tesi dal titolo Strutture dinamiche e desoggettivazione. Problemi della filosofia di Raymond Ruyer, è traduttrice di Raymond Ruyer. I suoi studi si concentrano sulla filosofia francese contemporanea, con particolare attenzione alle questioni legate alla filosofia della natura e alle teorie della complessità. Ha cocurato il numero di «aut aut» 377/2018 Effetto Simondon. Docente precaria nei licei, è tra i fondatori di Philosophy Kitchen.

Alice Giarolo, University of Ferrara

Dottoranda presso l’Università degli Studi di Ferrara dove è impegnata in una ricerca sul trascendentale tra filosofia e geografia. I suoi principali autori di riferimento sono a Maurice Merleau-Ponty, Gilles Deleuze e Gilbert Simondon. E' docente di ruolo nei licei.
