Here we present the text of an interview that Franco Lolli, psychotherapist, psychoanalyst and essayist, released to the curators on the occasion of the publication of the book Prima di essere io. The living, language, subjectivation (Orthotes, 2017, 174p.). The volume introduces the subject of subjectivation through the clinical lens of intellectual disabilities and dialogues with the classic referents of the theory of Lacanian subjectivation in cases where, however, organic lesions invalidate the potential expression of personification. Before I am, he opens an investigation space within the edges of the impersonal, asking what happens to an organism that cannot become a body, to a Yes that cannot make itself.
