The article explores how the use of artificial intelligence (AI) transforms the ways in which knowledge is being organized in museums and suggests that AI’s ability to integrate diverse knowledge systems and resources from different ontological fields requires a comprehensive approach to the museum as a whole and enables a self-reflexive view of this institution. However, the article argues that the museum’s growing dependency on external stakeholders, such as AI and big-data-related industries and governmental and global institutions, has a significant impact on the growing process of museums' platformization, which results in a gradual erosion of its traditional alleged autonomy
