La genesi asimmetrica dell'individuo

Abstract

The research of symmetries allows the cognitive activity to find elements that do not change in the processes of transformation that characterize human experience. An epistemological reflection about the symmetry principle, and his role in the transition from modern science to contemporary physics, reveals that symmetries and symmetry breakings are very useful instruments in the modelling of physical reality. These remarks enable to develop a correlation between the concept of asymmetry and the genesis of the individual. In this regard the individuation process described by Gilbert Simondon offers an instructive example of the ontogenetical power of asymmetry.
