Abstract

In the sixties, Pope Paul VI said that development is the new name of peace. Today we could say that the interdependent domain of banks and capital is the new name for peace. What dominates is a dynamic that is substantially similar to some gambling in which one is systematically deceived. The “immaculate look of commodities” makes us believe that the system is not a form of slavery. We can always believe that we can succeed in satisfying our needs and wants.
