Through the idea of the “re-enchantment of the world,” the essay elaborates and formulates in still preparatory terms the proposal of a deliberately strategic use of images and, more specifically even though not exclusively, of public art in terms of a re-symbolization of the shared public space. Within this framework, images become a powerful, almost mythopoietic element for the creation of new communities within the fragmented contemporary public space. This short essay constitutes an attempt at framing the terms of a question that will receive further elaboration in subsequent contributions.
