The essay regards festivals as “the unusual” that inserts itself in our lives – lives that, on the contrary, have already delineated their usual direction. Within the world of festivals, life attains its own form by defining times, places, and communities that celebrate memories and feelings. Festivals are performative acts, clearly close to the realm of religious cults and rites but with extensions also into the profane domain.
