The current society is more fragmented than liquid. Differences, which are apparently extolled, end up increasing the isolation and distances among individuals. Fear and resentment are the socially dominating feelings. None of these aspects favors the left which, if it wishes to exit the alternative between losing and being lost, must embark in a rigorous process of identification of its real adversaries. Putting aside an old-fashioned anti-capitalism, it ought instead to fight against profit (and its beneficiaries). Putting aside a superficial egalitarianism, it ought to acknowledge the role and responsibilities of the élite and fight against the casts.
