Integrazione come articolazione sintetica

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the concept of integration, introduced by the American philosopher and sociologist Mary Parker Follett (1868 1933) in her writings composed in the early decades of the twentieth century. The concept of integration will be discussed in four steps. In the first paragraph this concept will be introduced within the broade r framework of Follett’s relational thinking. In the second paragraph the conceptual triad domination, compromise and negotiation will be introduced and discussed. In the third paragraph the concept of integration will be defined in terms of a synthetic ar ticulation. Finally, in the fourth and final paragraph we will mention possible theoretical applications of the integrative logic proposed by Follett, while at the same time acknowledging the gaps and theoretical weaknesses that must be resolved in order t o make this concept fully operational.
