Abstract

In the article the development of Iranian dualistic tradition is analyzed, with special regard to the Zurvanite problem and the beginning of “Iranian Gnosis” a.k.a. Manichaeism. Precedings of these Gnostic speculations may also be found in notables of ancient Greek dualistic myth and thought as Aristeas of Proconnesus and his tales about the struggle of Arimaspoi against the Gryphons.
