In order to begin to illustrate how nonviolent political actions has been received in China during the Republican period, this paper presents an analysis of how the biography and ideas of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869-1948) spread in the Chinese press through the about 30 books expressly devoted to his life and thought published in the first half of the XXth century.Downloads
