Abstract

Abstract

This paper presents a contrastive study of the somatic complex prepositions in two biblical books, the Book of Daniel and the Ecclesiasticus, present in two contemporary translations, the Bible preserved in the codex Escorial I.i.6 and the fourth part of the General Estoria. Our goal is to determine what the translation dynamics of somatic complex prepositions are, which versions most appropriately translate the Latin schemes and what solutions the vernacular translations offer and what the morphosyntactic changes and the variation they manifest depend on.
