Abstract

Through the collaboration with Mario Soldati and Alberto Lattuada to the screenplay of the Piccolo mondo antico in the spring of 1940, Mario Bonfantini starts his work as a screenwriter, that occupies a remarkable box in his curriculum. The essay reviews Bonfantini’s experiences in the field of cinema, both through official relations and through unrealized projects, and analyzes his relationships with many directors and screenwriters such as Soldati, Cecchi, Pavese, Moravia.
