The author of this article presents the concepts of ‘pluriculturalism’ and ‘plurilingualism’. These notions he places against the idea that the immigrant writer inevitably assimilates and will forsake whatever language and culture he carried with him in his suitcases. This position of conscious non-assimilation will lead to what he called elsewhere Atopia, which stands at the opposite end of nationalism. The author explores what the future holds for such writers who will ultimately become all writers from Atopia.Downloads
