Abstract

The article proposes a study of the biographical essay devoted to Charles Baudelaire written by Michel Schneider, the French psychoanalyst and writer. The analysis offers an inquiry into Baudelaire. Les années profondes from the perspective of Roland Barthes’s reflections on naturalisation and demystification of some conventional opinions, called “myth,” applied here to language, image, biography and portrait in relation to the issues of imitation and representation.
