Abstract

In this article two persons, Bustelli and Prato, notorius in the XIX century for their ingenious misdeeds. Prato attempted to organize a mission against the Ottoman Empire, whereas Bustelli was active in every field, from suspect international finanzig loans in the Honduras, to supplies of furniture and paintings to private and public institutions, to end with the famous falso concerning the substitution of the Pope, that offered the theme for a novel by André Gide.
