Abstract
The techniques of astrological diagnosis and prevision entail the idea that the fortuitous events constellating human existence have to do with the unfolding within time of dispositions and predispositions that are present in the individuals at the moment of birth. Genethliacal astrologers point out such features through the examination of the “birth chart.” This essay discusses the astrological interpretation of the theme of fortune on the basis of an analysis of one of the works that most directly addresses it, namely: the third book of De fortuna by Giovanni Pontano.
