Doctor wives of physicians in the Roman Empire: an example of equality?

In the essay are compared two epitaphs in Greek (respec-tively 1st-2nd and 4th-6th century AD): a physician praises his wife for her medical knowledge. The social context and religious faith profoundly affect the image of the deceased woman.
