Five letters are proposed addressed to Jano Planco, four from Domenico Cirillo and one from John Symonds. Through this correspondence, not only the importance of scientific corre-spondence is highlighted, but also the antiquarian-naturalistic mentality that characterized the century of Enlightenment. This way of thinking, in the kingdom of Naples, was linked above all to the diffusion of the theories of Giannone and Vico in some cultural environments that inherited the strong interest in experimental science.
