5. L’animal entre Histoire et Droit. Regards croisés Dialogue entre Pierre Brunet et Pierre Serna, coordonné par Manuela Albertone
Main Article Content
Abstract

The Animal between History and Law—Intersecting perspectives: A dialogue between Pierre Brunet and Pierre Sernat coordinated by Manuela Albertone
Current debates on the relationship between humans and animals, as well as the actions of animalistic movements—that touch on the issues of scientific research, of environment, of economy, of ethics and politics—have led the representation of the animal become a subject of study of the social sciences. An interdisciplinary approach is necessary to address a subject that connects humankind with its context, its past, its norms of social organization and its otherness. In this perspective, an exchange between a jurist and a historian is able to bring out permanence and metamorphoses in the long term and between theories and practices. We present here the dialogue that took place on November 28, 2019 in Paris, at the Institut d'histoire de la Révolution française between Pierre Serna, historian, and Pierre Brunet, jurist. Moving from different perspectives, the two specialists came to take an interest in the issue of the animal.
