Main Article Content
Abstract

Possibility and Necessity of Interdisciplinary Thoughts in Times of Crisis
The belief in the possibility of a pluri-disciplinary or multi-disciplinary approach, as based on the juxtaposition of various disciplinary perspectives, is widely spread. Yet this tenet is a source of illusions, in particular since different scales (macro, meso, micro) are used in analysis. It is especially dangerous when it obfuscates a much needed interrogation on the fundamental hypotheses and methods that in each discipline constitute its research objectsand its ramifications. Taking a step back to a both critical and relativistic point of view, interdisciplinarity makes it possible to grasp the limits of each domain of knowledge, as well as to understand how different types of knowledge (re)construct what we deem to be real. The crisis introduces doubts as to the effectiveness of certain disciplinary knowledge, that make it easier to question dogmatic positions and to recognize the limits of each vantage point.
