This contribution analyzes the role of status symbols and in particular the role of the imperial outfit in the election ceremony from the 4th century to the 6th century. This inquiry applies archeological, anthropological, and historical effectiveness. It narrates the election ritual and concludes questions about the representation problems during these ceremonies. In this way, it scrutinizes communication’s strategies, that modeled etiquettes of the election.
