Abstract

This article aims to analyze the debate that has developed around European issues within the Italian Catholic world, from the fall of the Berlin Wall to the end of John Paul II's pontificate, through the information provided by the editorial line followed on the subject by the magazine Studium. The nature of the source, historically linked to the intellectual movements of Catholic Action, seemed to convey extremely effectively the deeply rooted orientations and judgments of a significant part of the Italian Catholic world and its ruling classes, helping to provide glimpses of different nuances and sensibilities examined through comparison with contemporary sources.
