When Claudio Napoleoni deals with technology, as the oppression or liberation of the subject from contingency, he brings about a Copernican revolution in his reflection, moving from the social subject to the individual subject. There is a close relationship between his attraction to “formal rationality” that he had from the beginning of his reflection and the arrival at the end of his life because the metaphysical conception, which exalted “formal rationality”, and necessarily scientific knowledge, allowed the affirmation of an idea of “reason” that unequivocally allows a greater and more concrete possibility of controlling the forces operating in the economic and political-social world, transforming itself into a normative and dogmatic result.
