The essay examines the current status of literary studies and critical analysis. Reassessing the intellectual tradition within the humanities, the Author discusses the significance of literature, narratology and semiotics to other disciplines. In this perspective, even the interdisciplinary method(s) or approach(es) are re-investigated and re-qualified. The Author emphasizes the power associated to the metaphorical nature of literary language; critically explores the mutual illuminations between hermeneutics and philology; inspects the multifarious morphologies of meanings and the different patterns of words and texts which had moulded literary production.Downloads
