Unlike resistance-warfare, active resistance in the form of mass civil disobedience is absolutely universalist. This is because those who engage in it expect nothing but the final result, which is universalist by definition — a great principle such as the end of racial segregation. They do not expect anything for themselves or the political party they belong to because, in the event of victory, the final result is indivisible and belongs to everyone. In the case of resistance-warfare, however, the result is divisible among the various political parties based on the number of combatants, the territories liberated, or the strength of their international allies.
